2,000 cars stolen each year in Morocco

This is a figure that is increasing year by year and is affecting more and more Moroccans. Last year more than 2,000 cars were stolen from the kingdom.

At a press conference held in Casablanca where details were revealed, officials of the insurance company Atlanta revealed that 2,000 cars were stolen each year in Morocco, mainly in Casablanca, Marrakesh and Temara.

Most of these cars are quickly recovered by the Moroccan police and several national and international networks are dismantled.

In addition to car theft, traffickers also specialized in changing chassis numbers as well as fake number plates and even changing ownership.

Last February, Nador police announced the dismantling of a network specialized in the international traffic of stolen cars.
