The number of 4G internet subscribers and optical fiber is experiencing an extraordinary boom according to data from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ANRT).
At the end of March, the 4G mobile Internet fleet totaled some 11 million customers, an annual increase of 56.7%. For its part, the FTTH (optical fiber) fleet amounts to nearly 82,693 subscriptions, representing an annual growth of 88%. As for ADSL, it had nearly 1.44 million subscriptions as of March 31, 2019.
In total, the Internet (fixed and mobile) attracts nearly 23.1 million subscribers, an annual increase of 9.3%, and a penetration rate of 65.6%. A good dynamic supported mainly by the growth of the mobile Internet park (+9.2%).
