AfCON: Zimbabwe players threaten to boycott opening match

In the footsteps of the players of the Cameroonian selection, the players of the Zimbabwe team have threatened to boycott the opening match of the African Cup of Nations (AfCON), scheduled Friday, June 21 in Cairo against Egypt.

Indeed, the Warriors call the Zimbabwean federation to pay them their financial arrears, threatening not to participate in the AfCON.

According to Zimbabwean media the situation is resolved and an agreement would have been reached with the players. However, other sources claim that the players have not found any compromise with the federation at the moment.

Recall that Zimbabwe inherited Group A, alongside the host country Egypt, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
