AfDB: 118 million euros for Morocco to fight Coronavirus

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has just approved additional financing of 118 million euros for Morocco, as part of the support program for improving social protection. The objective is to “strengthen Morocco’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic”.

This amount constitutes an “extension of the support program for improving social protection, approved at the end of 2019, with an amount of 183 million euros”. This support program will allow the acquisition of 666 additional resuscitation beds, reaching a total capacity of 1,350 equipped beds. This amount will also help to increase Morocco’s capacity for screening tests and pharmaceutical devices. At the same time, 78 emergency services will benefit from an upgrade of their technical facilities.

This additional funding “will also help facilitate the emergency mobilization of doctors and members of the paramedical corps”.
