After Deputies, Advisers support the privatization of “La Mamounia”

The Council of Advisers approved the inclusion of a number of public companies in the privatization list, including the famous La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakesh.

With the approval of 24 advisers and the opposition of 13 others, with three abstentions, the Council approved the draft law to privatize public enterprises, which would enable the deletion of registered entities or the inclusion of new units in the list of units to be privatized.

The government aims to reduce the budget deficit from 3.7 to 3.3 per cent, according to Minister of Economy and Finance Mohamed Benchaaboun during the introduction of the draft fiscal law for 2019.

The House of Representatives approved in a general session, a majority of the draft law, to convert public facilities to the private sector, which includes the inclusion of the company to exploit the thermal plant in Tahaddart, and the La Mamounia Hotel in the list of companies to be privatized, in exchange for the deletion of five companies from the list to be privatized.
