The president of the CAF, Ahmad Ahmad is in bad shape. Malagasy is accused of corruption and sexual harassment.
“The African Football Confederation (CAF) fired Secretary-General Amr Fahmy after the Egyptian accused his boss Ahmad Ahmad of receiving bribes and abusing hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to officials and an internal document,” reports Reuters.
He added that “the document, sent by Fahmy on March 31 to a FIFA body investigating alleged ethical violations, seeks to prove that Ahmad Ahmad had ordered his secretary-general to pay $ 20,000 worth of jars on the accounts of some presidents of African federations”.
In addition, Reuters reports that Ahmad Ahmad is accused by Fahmy of the harassment of four women, CAF staff members. He is also accused of spending more than $ 400,000 on cars in Egypt and Madagascar.
CAF declined to give further details on the reasons for Amr Fahmy’s dismissal. “There is no explanation. This is the decision of the executive committee,” said Nathalie Rabe, director of CAF to Reuters.
