Rabat hosts the fourth edition of AITEX on Thursday and Friday under the theme “Making digital a new resource for Africa and a growth engine”. In Africa, the digital economy is growing, it is a real accelerator of economic development for the continent, which continues to adapt its digital transformation to its local specificities, said Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy, at the inauguration ceremony of this event. The latter plans to welcome several experts and professionals from the IT sector from more than 25 countries with China and Congo Brazzaville as guests of honor.
“We wanted to mark this edition by highlighting the Beijing-Rabat-Francophone Africa axis,” said Saloua Karkri Belkeziz, President of APEBI.
She took the opportunity to recall the efforts made by Morocco in particular in the field of digital. In this respect, we note the operationalization, since last year, of the Digital Development Agency and the launch of the Startup card. In addition to the plenaries, there are workshops and round tables to exchange and deepen the reflection on digital solutions for the benefit of African populations in priority areas (education, health and agriculture).
Without forgetting the space “Village Tech” dedicated to the operators including the startups to expose their products, technologies and services.
