Hakim Ziyech left to stay in the Netherlands. Ajax Amsterdam is looking to extend the contract of its main midfielder beyond 2021.
According to the Dutch press, Ajax, which has also extended the contract of Brazilian footballer David Neres until 2023, would also like to renew that of the Moroccan international. In this regard, the club has started negotiations with the player’s agent.
Indeed, the Dutch club, which has sold many of its stars this summer, would like to keep a hard core of quality players. Ajax is ready to offer Ziyech a salary of 3 million euros to keep it.
Recall that Hakim Ziyech had impressed the world by leading Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League after eliminating Real Madrid in the eighth and Juventus in quarters.
Ziyech has scored 21 goals and 24 assists this season with the Dutch club. Unfortunately, this was not the case in the African Cup of Nations. The player could not stand out and even missed a decisive penalty against Benin that would have led his teammates in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Note that Ziyech is still coveted by Bayern Munich who would like to enlist this summer.
