It is on the score of 1-0 that Algeria finally wins the final of AfCON 2019 against Senegal. After a lucky goal scored in the first minutes, the Fennecs held off the Senegalese and showed defensive solidity in a very physical final, with many faults.
Another highlight of the match: in the 60th minute, the VAR cancels a penalty for Senegal, a hand deemed involuntary by the referee. Throughout the second half, the Senegalese, lack of success, have tried somehow to equalize. On the other hand, Algeria failed to aggravate the score. The Algerians won the game by committing many mistakes, but they did the basics and showed that they had the character to win the AfCON.
The Fennecs win in this final against Senegal and win the second crowned in their history, after that of 1990. This is the second final lost to the Senegalese after that of 2002.
