The American giant of the net economy Amazon invests massively in Morocco.
Amazon, the largest listed company in the world, has just injected some 100 million dirhams into its Moroccan subsidiary Support Services Amazon as part of a recapitalization that raised the capital to 23.2 million dirhams (including a premium of issue 99 million dirhams). This operation is intended to strengthen the financial resources of this entity which is about to inaugurate a customer relations center of several hundred positions at Technopolis Rabat.
For now, the Moroccan subsidiary of the famous American e-commerce and web services site is in massive recruitment phase (especially to serve the Italian market of its parent company) to reach at its start a hundred teleoperators trained to phone support and perfectly bilingual (excellent command of Italian and French in writing and orally). A staff that it has at least quadruple in cruising speed.
Remember that Amazon became the most expensive private company in the world in 2019 by winning Microsoft’s first place on Wall Street with a capitalization that today reaches 860 billion dollars (nearly 8,300 billion dirhams, more than 7 times the Moroccan GDP).
A sacred consecration for the small online bookseller founded in 1994 and become in the space of 25 years a juggernaut of distribution on the internet, or even a giant of cloud computing, a creator of popular products like intelligent voice assistants Alexa and the manager of a popular music and cinema platform via its premium service. In 2018, Amazon’s net sales aligned another prodigious leap of 31% (an increase equivalent to that of 2017) to $ 232.9 billion (nearly MAD 2247 billion).
