American Adient launches second factory in Morocco

A few days after the announcement of the United States’ recognition of the Moroccan character of the Sahara, the American supplier Adient, world leader in the automotive seat segment, will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Moroccan government in Casablanca. This is the first in a series of announcements spoken about by US Ambassador to Morocco David Fisher.

The signing of this memorandum of understanding will be in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Moulay Hafid Elalamy. No details have yet been given on the amount of the investment, but it will open the door to many more.

The Minister of Industry had also revealed that many American operators have shown their willingness to invest in Morocco in general, and in the southern provinces in particular.

Adient has been based in Morocco since 2017, in the Atlantic Free Zone industrial zone, near Kenitra, through its first subsidiary on the African continent, Lamination Automotive Fabrics (LAF).
