The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rachid Talbi Alami, called Tuesday in Rabat, to involve all relevant government departments to combat the phenomenon of doping.
Speaking at the first meeting of the “National Compliance Platform of the International Convention against Doping in Sport of UNESCO”, Mr. Talbi Alami said that his department to promote a healthy sport environment, in particular through the implementation of the provisions of the said convention.
He also highlighted the particular role of the Platform as a mechanism for coordinating and unifying efforts for a better fight against doping, recalling the actions of Morocco for the moralization of the practice of sport and its policy of maintaining the good reputation of national athletes in competitions.
For her part, Fatima Bouali, head of sports medicine at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stressed that this meeting was an opportunity to agree on the accompaniment of the project against doping pending the establishment of the National Anti-Doping Agency. Entered into force on 1 February 2007, the International Convention against Doping in Sport of UNESCO provides a mechanism to assist States Parties in the development of anti-doping education and prevention programs through the Elimination Fund of doping in sport.
