Arab Mathematical Olympics: A Gold and Two Silver Medals for Morocco

Three Moroccan students won a gold and two silver medal at the first Arab Mathematical Olympics that ended this week in Jeddah. Students from the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region signed very honorable results at this scientific event, thanks to Mohamed Khir who won the gold medal and Nizar El Ghazal and Mohamed EL Kafil who won two silver medals.

According to the organizing committee, the competition was marked by unconventional questions that require the student’s ability to solve mathematical equations, Euclidean geometry and number theory.

Arab mathematical Olympiads opened last Sunday with the participation of 13 Arab countries, namely Morocco, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Algeria, Sudan, Kuwait, Yemen, Tunisia, the Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon, Libya, besides Saudi Arabia, host country.
