Pointing operations carried out by the services of the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) at the level of the Interpol databases, concerning a French national of Algerian origin arrested in the coastal zone near “Tnin Sidi El Yamani”(Larache), revealed that the latter is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French authorities since July 2012 for alleged links with a criminal network bustling in international drug trafficking and psychotropic drugs.
According to the information contained in the international arrest warrant, the 39-year-old is believed to be involved in the organization, between 2011 and 2012, of several international drug trafficking operations as part of a rampant criminal network. in Morocco and France, said Thursday the DGSN in a statement.
The services of the DGSN conducted research in international databases following the arrest of the suspect, the 16 june with a Moroccan, by the elements of the Royal Armed Forces responsible for border surveillance at the level the Asilah and Larache coasts, the statement added, adding that the defendants were arrested in the act of possessing geo-positioning devices (GPS), batteries and mobile phones under suspected drug trafficking conditions by sea.
DGSN has initiated coordination procedures with the French security authorities in the context of international cooperation on this case, the same source continues, noting that the suspect and his accomplice have been referred to the competent prosecutor by the services of the Royal Gendarmerie, for alleged involvement in drug trafficking at the national level.
