AU: Morocco chairs the Peace and Security Council for September

Morocco assures since this Sunday 1st September the presidency of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU) for the month of September.

Since returning to the AU, Morocco, which has been elected to the AU Peace and Security Council for a two-year term, chairs for the first time this permanent decision-making body for the prevention, management and conflict resolution.

The election of Morocco as a member of this body is above all a consecration of the efforts of Moroccan diplomacy at the level of the Continent under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, and recognition of the role of Rabat in prevention, management and post-conflict reconstruction.
