BASF has just sealed an exclusive agreement with the PSA Group, with the objective of providing a set of electroplating coating technologies for all body paint coatings, as well as a specific solution for bumpers. What to participate in the local integration of the French manufacturer in Morocco.
Under the terms of the agreement, the parties undertake to equip the cataphoresis baths of the PSA Group’s new plant in Kenitra with a specific electrocoating coating technology called “CathoGuard” and concocted by the German chemical group. In addition, corrosion protection will be applied to the bodywork of all vehicles assembled at the Kenitra plant, including the new Peugeot 208.
Jose Ignacio Lopez, head of PSA’s paint shop, confirms the common goal that unites the two multinationals: “In terms of sustainable and innovative products, we rely on collaboration with partners like BASF who share our ambitions. We are very happy to launch this project in Morocco, which opens up new opportunities for us in North Africa.”
