BCIJ: Arrest of an extremist who planned a suicide attack

The Central Office of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), under the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested on Saturday, in coordination with the judicial police services of Meknes, a 41-year-old extremist, supporter of the group called “Islamic State” and active in the same city.

Security investigations have shown that the respondent is involved in the propaganda of the extremist ideology of “Daech”, in parallel with his attempts to obtain information and expertise on the method of using weapons, equipment and materials, indicates Sunday the BCIJ.

The investigation also revealed that the suspect was planning a suicide attack to cause serious damage. This resulted in the seizure of electronic devices, as well as written documents relating to products related to the manufacture of explosives.

The respondent will be brought to justice upon completion of the investigation under the supervision of the prosecution.
