The Sovereign gave Monday in Rabat an exceptional boost to ecological tourism transport. An initiative that is in line with the guidelines and environmental commitments of the Kingdom for many years under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
The handing over of keys to the beneficiaries of bicycle-taxis, acquired as part of the tourist and ecological transport project in the city of Rabat supported by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) is a symbolic act of an unwavering desire to anchor ecological fiber in the daily behavior of Rbatis and tourists.
Numbering 50, these three-wheel-drive bicycles, whose acquisition required a total investment of 2.5 million dirhams, will be used for tourist trips within the city of Rabat. An initiative that deserves to be generalized in the coming years and can inspire other regions, especially those whose tourism activity is at half mast. An alliance between the private sector, the regions and civil society will therefore have a strong chance of achieving a clean, profitable and practical transport model.
The project aims to promote clean transport at the capital level, but not only. It opens the door to a real diversification of means of transport and urban mobility, as well as the creation of an income-generating activity for the benefit of young beneficiaries.
In the case of the Rabat model, the future “Bike-Taxidriver” received training in communication and reception techniques, civic education, management and entrepreneurship and foreign languages, supervised by the “Al Anwar” cooperative for transport ecological and tourist and the association “Espace point de départ” (ESPOD).
