Brazilian arrested in Casablanca

A total of 980 grams of cocaine, packed in 81 capsules, was extracted this Saturday from the intestines of a Brazilian national arrested at Mohammed V International Airport, said the Casablanca police headquarters.

National security services at the Mohammed V airport had questioned the brazilian (22 years) since arrival on board a flight from Sao Paulo (Brazil), said the DGSN in a statement, adding that the accused, who was planning to visit the French capital (Paris), was suspected of trafficking cocaine in his intestines, which necessitated his placement under medical supervision at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca.

After the stabilization of his state of health, the suspect was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, the source said.
