Campus France: Strong drop in applications from Moroccan students

Does the increase in registration fees for non-EU foreign students in French universities have their first effects?

The first figures recorded for the applications for the license show a strong figure among students from certain countries. For Moroccans, the number of applicants for the license fell by 15.5%, according to figures from Campus France.

In total, 28,294 files were submitted by students from non-EU countries, 10% less than the same period last year, says Campus France. The largest drop was noted among Algerian (-22.9%), Vietnamese (-19.7%) and Tunisian (-16.1%) students.

On the other hand, despite the rise in fees, applications rose for other countries such as Senegal (+11.3%), Mali (+5.6%), Benin (+8.2%), Russia (+8.9%) and China (+8.6%).
