The Canopy by Hilton brand will open a hotel in Morocco, the first of its kind in North Africa. The Hilton chain has indeed signed a management contract with an investment vehicle managed by Yamed Capital, with a view to the opening of a hotel under the name “Canopy by Hilton”.
The future hotel, which will be located in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Casablanca, was unveiled live last Tuesday at the grand premiere of the program “Metropolitan Casablanca”, which pays tribute to a vibrant city, to multifaceted and avant-garde. The establishment will have 158 rooms and will be part of Metropolitan, a brand new project under development, intended for mixed use (residential, commercial and hotel). The hotel will also include three restaurants and a conference center incorporating four meeting rooms and a large multipurpose room, in addition to other facilities (swimming pool, SPA, gym). The opening is scheduled for 2024.
“The choice of Casablanca to unveil Canopy by Hilton represents an important step in our development plan in Morocco,” said Carlos Khneisser, Vice President in charge of Development for the Middle East and Africa region of Hilton, before adding: “I am delighted that we were able to conclude this agreement with Yamed Capital, a major player in the real estate sector in Morocco, in order to establish a brand new hotel at the heart of the Metropolitan project on the site of the Arenas in Casablanca”. Note that the brand has 13 hotels around the world and 41 under construction in 14 countries.
