Absent since the start of the Premier League season, Hakim Ziyech will finally be able to make his debut with his new club, Chelsea. A news that rejoices his coach, Frank Lampard.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said he was “excited” to see Hakim Ziyech, his first summer signing, make his debut against Southampton on Saturday.
Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax for € 44million but was unable to show the extent of his talent after a knee injury in a pre-season friendly at Brighton on August 29, which prevented him from making his competitive debut.
The England technician made no secret of his joy when he announced that his player is ready to hit the pitch. “We brought Hakim here and it’s been a long time now, he’s worked so hard, he’s been fantastic in terms of professionalism getting in shape, and he looks really good in training,” he said, before adding:
“I have a very open relationship with him about where he is and how I feel about it. So these are just game minutes we need now”.
“Of course, I’m delighted to bring him in and surround him, to bring what we brought him to the club for which is the opportunity to create opportunities for us, to be the talented player that he is and that we have seen at Ajax and I can’t wait to see him play,” he concluded.
