A new premium spring is planned in Essaouira. This new project, with an investment of one billion dirhams, was announced Monday by Club Med in collaboration with the Pan-African investment fund Grit Real Estate Income Group.
Club Med Essaouira should be operational in 2024, we learned in a press release. This building will have 350 rooms and will have a Club Med Exclusive Collection area. The Club will be fully integrated into its surroundings, available year round for families and active couples. It will offer tourists quality experiences with natural, historical, cultural heritage, leisure activities and a large area of water sports, the same source said.
This project is part of the extension of the close and historical links between Club Med and the Kingdom of Morocco since 1963, when the brand was established in Al Hoceima for the first time. A presence reinforced three years later by the installation of the first “hard” spring in Agadir after the earthquake. Other Club Med actions in the Kingdom and several initiatives are worth mentioning. Still in its vision of promoting the socio-cultural authenticity of the region, Club Med is considering the second stage of a Marrakech-Essaouira circuit, intended for its international clients.
The project was announced by Mr. Henri Giscard’Estaing, President of Club Med, in the presence of Mr. André Azoulay, advisor to King Mohammed VI, at Club Med Marrakech la Palmeraie. Several other authorities were also present at the ceremony, including, among others, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy and Karim Kassi Lahlou, the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region.
