Coronavirus: A 110-year-old woman healed in Morocco

A 110-year-old woman left Friday the Hassan II University Hospital Center (CHU) in Fez, after her recovery from the new Coronavirus (Covid19).

The lady recovered from the illness after a stay of 26 days at CHU-Fez, where she was treated according to the treatment protocol adopted in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

“The patient had the upper hand on the virus thanks to the efforts made by the medical staff, paramedical of the CHU of Fez and members of her family,” said the acting head of the hepato-gastroenterology service at the CHU, Mohamed Al Abkari. Despite his age, the centenary suffers from no other pathology, he noted.

In the past 24 hours, 60 cases of recovery from the new Coronavirus have been recorded in the Fez-Meknes region, bringing the total number of people recovered to 892.

No new confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection have been recorded in the Fez-Meknes region in the past 24 hours.

The number of cases of contamination identified in the region since the start of the epidemic reached the threshold of 1,000. A total of 81 people (8.1 pc) are still under treatment throughout the region, including 4 provinces and a prefecture (out of 9) with no Covid19 cases. These are Meknes, Boulemane, Taza, Moulay Yaacoub and Ifrane.
