Coronavirus: Cases are on the rise again in Morocco

Morocco has recorded 361 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total of cases recorded at the national level since the start of the epidemic to 1168664.

Currently, the total active cases rise to 1779, among them, 16 cases are in serious condition. Over the past 24 hours, the number of fully vaccinated people (having received 2 doses) has reached 23314584 while the people who have received the 1st dose of the vaccine is estimated at 24833375 according to the Ministry of Health. And for the 3rd dose, it is 6431573 new doses injected.

As for the geographical distribution of new cases recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, it is the region of Casablanca-Settat which comes first among the most affected regions, accounting for 195 new infections, of which 180 were detected in the city of Casablanca.

Second region in the ranking, the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 104 infections including 76 located in the city of Rabat. Follows, the region of Marrakech-Safi which lists 27 cases including 26 in Marrakech.

A total of 9 infections takes stock of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region where 3 cases were recorded in Tetouan, followed by Souss-Massa with 8 cases including 3 in Taroudant.

The Beni Mellal-Khenifra region has 7 cases, all located in Beni Mellal, while the Fez-Meknes region has recorded 6 cases, including 4 in Fez. Finally, 5 cases have been identified in the Oriental region, including 3 in Berkane.
