A total of 114 children under the age of 14 are affected by Covid-19 in Morocco, announced the Ministry of Health which reported 82 new infections in 24 hours.
Infection cases in children have been recorded in the regions of Marrakech-Safi with 66 cases, Casablanca-Settat (23), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (11), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (6), Rabat-Salé -Kénitra (4), Fès-Meknès (3) and Souss-Massa (only one case), specified Dr Mouad Mrabet, coordinator of the National Center of Public Health Emergency Operations at the ministry, in his daily statement.
He also indicated that 82 new cases of infection and 78 cures were recorded during the last 24 hours, brings to 8734 the number of contaminations since the beginning of the epidemic, that is to say a rate of 24/100,000 inhabitants, and at 7725 the total number of remission cases, representing a cure rate of 88.5%
The number of deaths remained at 212, with no cases reported in the past 24 hours, a fatality rate of 2.4%.
The average age of active cases is around 33: 58% of men and 42% of women, he said, adding that twelve cases are in intensive care or intensive care, including eight in Casablanca ( 2 on artificial respiration) and four in Tangier where two cases are on artificial respiration.
