Coronavirus: The assessment rises to 54 positive cases in Morocco

New confirmed cases of contamination with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) have been recorded in Morocco, bringing to 54 the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom, announces the Minister of Health. Another important announcement: Morocco moves to stage 2 of the fight against the Coronavirus.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra leads the affected regions with 14 confirmed cases, followed by Casablanca-Settat and Fès-Meknes with 12 cases each, Marrakech-Safi (5 cases) and Souss-Massa (4 cases), said Khalid Ait Taleb.

The Beni Mellal, Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima and Oriental regions have recorded 2 confirmed cases each, while another case has been detected in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, he said.

The government official wanted to reassure about the health infrastructure, stressing that 1,600 resuscitation beds have been mobilized for this purpose.

The ministry invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health security and to adhere, in all responsibility and in a spirit of patriotism, to the preventive measures announced by the Moroccan authorities.
