The number of deaths from Covid-19 in Morocco has increased significantly in recent days. The daily toll of contaminations has passed above the 1000 case mark for more than two weeks.
A worrying situation that challenged the director of the World Health Organization (WHO). In a videoconference from Geneva on Thursday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that “the number of cases of contamination and deaths in Morocco remains low compared to other countries, but the trend is increasing.”
“The situation will become more serious if this uptrend continues,” he warned, calling on the Moroccan authorities to “do more” to reverse this trend and to “be firmer” in the measures taken to stem the pandemic.
It must be said that the Kingdom recorded a record on Wednesday in terms of new contaminations, with 1499 new cases. Another sad record was recorded Thursday: 28 new deaths.
