Covid-19: The King proposes an initiative to African heads of state

King Mohammed VI spoke on the phone on Monday, April 13, with the Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattarra, and the Senegalese president, Macky Sall.

A royal cabinet statement said the talks focused on the alarming development of the Covid-19 pandemic on the African continent.

During these talks, the Sovereign proposed the launch of an initiative by African Heads of State aimed at establishing an operational framework to support African countries in their various phases of managing the pandemic.

It is a pragmatic and action-oriented initiative, allowing the sharing of experiences and good practices, in order to cope with the health, economic and social impact of the pandemic.
