Morocco is the 32nd most affected country in the world by computer threats associated with web browsing. In fact, more than 3.6 million incidents of malware downloaded from the Internet were detected over this period. These web-based threats affected 27.6% of Kaspersky Security Network users.
According to Kaspersky’s record, a total of 13.4 million attacks were detected between April and June 2020 in the Kingdom. Morocco thus ranks 48th in the world for attacks linked to local threats. Worms and viruses representing the majority of incidents detected. “The phenomenon illustrates the proliferation of attacks by malware distributed via USB drives, CDs, DVDs and other ‘offline’ methods,” Kaspersky said. A total of 9.8 million such threats have been identified. In terms of sources of threat, Morocco is 61st in the world.
Note that the countries with the highest percentage of users attacked by web-borne threats during this period are Belarus (39.9%), Algeria (37.9%), Moldova (36.6%) and Albania (36.3%).
