Dismantling of a new terrorist cell in Morocco

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) dismantled a terrorist cell on Monday, November 23 in Inezgane.

The cell, which was active in Inezgane and Ait Melloul, is made up of three members (26 to 28 years old), said a statement from the BCIJ.

Preliminary investigations reveal the link of this cell with the terrorist organization Daesh to which its members have pledged allegiance before planning terrorist attacks threatening the security of the Kingdom.

The respondents were looking for weapons and chemicals for the preparation of explosives. They also praised Da’esh terrorist operations in several foreign countries, adds the same source.

This operation, says the BCIJ, resulted in the seizure of large and medium-sized knives, electronic devices and extremist documents.

The defendants were placed in police custody in order to further investigate with them under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, pending trial before the end of the investigation.
