EIAAF 2019: Economic Intelligence and Prospective Territories in Africa

Under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and in the framework of the Open University of Dakhla, the Association for Studies and Research for Development will organize, in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, the second meeting of the Economic Intelligence African Associations Forum (EIAAF) on the theme “Economic intelligence and prospective territories in Africa” ​​in Dakhla on 20 and 21 June.

This meeting assigns as main objective to make an inventory of the African national experiences in territorial economic intelligence, starting from an academic, political and scientific approach. Thus, it will be a question of highlighting the experiences of African countries and cities in terms of territorial intelligence. This is the case, for example, of economic, financial, social and cultural innovation experiments, training of managers and elected representatives, digital development of territories, or experiences of promoting policies and activities in the field of sustainable energy, water management, agriculture and sustainable tourism.

The program of this edition, a series of plenary sessions that will deal with: “Prospects of the territories, African glances”, “The competitiveness of African territories between globalization and localization”, “African territories: innovations and digital transformations”, “Training practices of territorial economic intelligence”, and” Global Agendas for the Development and Prospective of African Territories”. On the menu of the 2019 edition is also the launch for the first time of a prize for the best research in economic intelligence in Africa. It is a reward for researchers affiliated with research centers and African students studying in master’s and doctoral programs.

The prize includes three categories, namely doctoral, master and book, and will be awarded annually at these meetings to distinguish research excellence on topics related to economic intelligence in Africa, as well as visits of several historical sites and development projects in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.

It should be noted that the EIAAF’s objectives include disseminating knowledge about business intelligence, territories, universities and research centers, scientific knowledge related to business intelligence and economic security in Africa, deepening knowledge of geostrategic of the African continent, to help the creation of national associations of economic intelligence in the African countries, to carry out studies and researches in strategic watch and economic security, and to organize scientific activities, cultural and all other events falling within the framework objectives of the forum.
