A suspect was arrested Monday as part of investigations into the explosion last Friday in the center of Lyon (south-eastern France) a parcel bomb that was 13 wounded.
The arrest in the street of this man, who would be a 24-year-old engineer, was announced in a tweet by the French Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner.
The minister hailed the mobilization of the judicial police of this city and the general direction of internal security (DGSI). “Their joint action is crucial,” he said.
The prosecutor’s office in Paris said that a suspect suspected of being “the author” of the attack was arrested Monday in Lyon and placed in custody.
Eleven of the 13 injured in the explosion of this parcel trapped are still hospitalized.
The package, filled with nails, screws and bolts was dropped off in front of a bakery on a busy street in downtown Lyon.
