The Moroccan national football team climbed four places in the FIFA world rankings released on Thursday, from 43rd to 39th position.
At the African level, the Atlas Lions occupy fifth place with 1461 points, behind Senegal (21st in the world, -1), Tunisia (26th), Algeria (30th, +5) and Nigeria (32nd , -3). Belgium retains its first place in the FIFA rankings, followed by France, Brazil and England. Portugal maintained their fifth place in the top 5.
Spain moved up to sixth place (+1), Uruguay dropped one place to seventh, while Denmark moved up three places to thirteenth place. The Netherlands dropped two places (15th) and Germany retained the 14th place in the standings. Romania posted the biggest drop in the standings, dropping 10 places to place 44th.
