The Moroccan national football team retained its 34th place in the ranking of the International Football Federation (FIFA), published on Thursday. The Atlas Lions total 1479.32 points and occupy 5th place at the continental level, behind Senegal (1542.45 pts), Tunisia (1512.88 pts), Nigeria (1487.16) and Algeria (1486.69).
Belgium maintains its first position in the standings, followed by France, while Brazil occupies 3rd place. England and Portugal stagnate in 4th and 5th positions respectively.
The national team lost one place in this ranking last April, dropping from 33rd to 34th place. The Moroccan selection had won two places in February, after Morocco’s victory in the Africa Cup of Nations Championship for local players (AfCON).
