Abderrafie Zouiten is in bad shape. The former director of the Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT) was confiscated his passport and mean the prohibition to leave the territory. This was decided by the investigating judge in charge of financial crimes at the Fes Court of Appeals against him.
Pursued in a state of freedom, Zouiten faces serious accusations: “misappropriation and squandering of public funds” and “falsification”.
The judge’s decision includes other people involved in the case. Also prosecuted in a state of freedom after paying bail (between 40,000 and 100,000 dirhams in each case), they are suspected of embezzling public funds and falsifying official documents, in addition to abuse of power.
