French Eurostyle Systems launches second factory in Morocco

Less than ten years after gaining a foothold in Morocco, the French group Eurostyle decided to substantially consolidate its presence there.

The automotive supplier, which is one of the three main players for the development and production of plastic components and modules for the automotive and heavy truck industry, is preparing to launch the construction of a second industrial unit in the region of Tangier. This time, it is in the new Tanger Automotive City (TAC) free zone near the Renault Tanger Med plant that the automotive exterior and interior trim specialist has decided to reinforce its Moroccan industrial system. which already has a plant based in Tangier Free Export Zone, not far from the airport of the city, and which manufactures mainly shields and door panels.

Expected by Eurostyle Systems Melloussa SA, the future plant will cover 28,000 m² of land and will require an investment envelope of more than 100 million dirhams. Since its inauguration in 2020, it will specialize in the manufacture of various large components for the automobile industry by plastic injection. Like Eurostyle Systems Tangier, the historical subsidiary in Morocco, the new activity is designed to deliver car manufacturers including Renault assembly plants (major client of its parent company) in Tangiers and Casablanca, first-class equipment manufacturers such as Yazaki and Leoni.

Since 2009, Eurostyle Systems has been part of the Plastic & Leather Systems division of the GMD Group, which also operates in stamping, die casting and sealing. This automotive and aeronautics equipment supplier has around fifty production sites in some fifteen countries. At the end of 2018, its consolidated turnover reached 851 million dirhams (more than 9 billion dirhams) for a workforce of just over 5,000 employees (including several hundred in Morocco).
