Glovo is launching its home delivery services in 8 new cities, totaling 18 urban centers in Morocco since its launch in 2018. After Casablanca, Mohammedia, Dar Bouazza, Rabat, Temara, Kenitra, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir and Fès, Glovo is now present in El Jadida, Meknes, Oujda, Tetouan, Laâyoune, Beni Mellal, Berkane and Khouribga.
Toni Pérez, Managing Director of Glovo in Morocco, said on the occasion that “Moroccans are increasingly in need of home delivery, especially given the health context that we have been experiencing for almost a year.” In response, the company decided in 2020 to change its model from a for-profit to a special-purpose business.
For the health and safety of its partners and customers, Glovo has also adopted, from the time of sanitary confinement, the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and local authorities, with the establishment of a system delivery without contact and without signature, so as to drastically limit physical interactions.
“Glovo has also used its logistics network to assist vulnerable communities, and this through the transport of medical supplies and the provision of food and basic necessities to the elderly and the homeless,” he adds. The company also took charge of the courier service for NGOs and “supported food donations from partners and food banks”.
