Green tea: Morocco imports 70,000 tons per year

The Moroccan Association of Tea and Coffee Manufacturers (AMITC) recently received a delegation in Casablanca representing their Chinese counterparts, led by the Secretary General of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

The objective of this meeting was to discuss the evolution of the Moroccan tea market, its constraints, its requirements and the prospects for strengthening commercial links in this field.

And on this occasion, the president of AMITC, Mohamed Astaib, said that the volume of imports of green tea from Morocco is 70 000 tons per year, stating that Morocco is the largest consumer in North Africa. The Kingdom is also distinguished by its status as the first partner of China with a rate of 25% of Chinese global exports.
