Guelmim: The new terminal welcomes its inaugural flight

The new Guelmim terminal inaugurated this week welcomed its first flight from Casablanca on Friday.

The infrastructure, which required an investment of 273.5 million DH, has a capacity of 700,000 passengers per year.

It is part of ONDA’s projects aimed at increasing the reception capacity of regional airports. This flagship project will have positive impacts on the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun and on the air transport strategy adopted by the Office. The project included, among other things, the extension and upgrading of the aircraft movement area to accommodate Type B 747 aircraft, the reinforcement of the runway and the completion of its shoulders, construction of an aircraft parking to accommodate four medium-haul aircraft, and the creation of ramps connecting the runway and the new aircraft parking.
