Morocco international Hakim Ziyech injured his knee in his first pre-season game with the Blues on Saturday. This match pitted his club Chelsea against Brighton.
The Moroccan forward was forced out in the 54th minute of the game due to knee pain. “It’s a little twist in the knee. We’ll be watching that closely,” said Blues coach Frank Lampard.
The game ended with a score of (1-1). In this first appearance for the Morocco international in a first game for the Blues, Ziyech rose to the challenge. He gave a nice pass that allowed Werner to open the scoring in the 4th minute of play.
“Ziyech had a great game. His contribution was wonderful and of excellent quality,” said the England technician.
