Hervé Renard threw in the towel. The French Lions coach has resigned as coach of the Moroccan national team.
This is what announced Monday, media on its social networks. “Hervé Renard has resigned from his duties as Lions coach,” said the press.
Recall that the French daily L’Equipe had affirmed that Hervé Renard would not remain coach of the Lions of the Atlas after the AfCON. After the elimination of Morocco against Benin, the coach had not wanted to give information on the subject, keeping the total blur. Renard recalled that he was linked to the Moroccan Federation by a contract that runs until 2021 and that he “respects” this contract. “The decision to leave or stay will be made at the right time. I thank all those who have supported us for the last three years,” he said.
What is certain is that the French technician is coveted by several selections and clubs. Renard would be tipped to coach the Saudi national team, which has been without a coach since last January after being eliminated in the Asian Cup. The announcement was recently made by the Saudi press.
