Illegal migration: EU offers drones to Morocco

Faced with the migratory flow which crosses the Mediterranean, the European Union had decided to bring its aid, both financial and logistical, to the Kingdom in order to curb this influx.

The result of these combined efforts: the number of irregular crossings into Europe from Morocco was reduced by 54% in 2019, thanks in particular to the intervention of the Royal Navy, the Auxiliary Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie and border guards.

In this, the EU granted Morocco about 101.7 million euros in aid a month ago to intensify its efforts and efforts to combat illegal immigration.

Thus, in order to monitor its coasts and better fight against migratory flows to Europe, the Kingdom has just received, among other things, some 15 drones, trucks and tankers as well as radars.
