ILO: Director-General thanks Morocco for its initiatives

In a meeting with the Moroccan Minister of Labor and Integration, Mohamed Amkraz, in Abidjan, on the sidelines of the 14th African Regional Meeting of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Director-General, Guy Ryder thanked Morocco for successfully hosting the Global Forum on Migration and Development, held in December 2018 in Marrakech.

Ryder also praised the initiative of Morocco which, last July in Geneva, tabled three important international conventions for ratification while the ILO only asked for a convention, noting that Morocco is the second country in Africa in terms of ratified conventions. The ILO’s Director-General also paid tribute to the Kingdom for signing the tripartite agreement on 25 April, saying that the convention will undoubtedly contribute to consolidating the social peace in Morocco.
