Imlil Murders: Resumption of the trial

The trial of the murderers of two young Scandinavian tourists, Louisa Vesterager Jespersen and Maren Ueland, killed last December resumed Thursday at the Salé court. The two victims were beheaded by three men who pledged allegiance to Daesh in a video posted on social networks after the killings.

Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, a 24-year-old Danish student, and her friend Maren Ueland, a 28-year-old Norwegian, were murdered while camping on an isolated site before a mountain hike.

The main suspect, Abdessamad Ejjoud, a convict, had admitted at the last hearing to have murdered one of the two tourists. One of his accomplices Younes Ouaziyad (27) admitted to beheading the second, while Rachid Afatti (33) admitted to filming the double murder. A total of 24 people are being prosecuted in this case, including a Hispano-Swiss, Kevin Zoller Guervos.
