Internet: Morocco 2nd on the 4G coverage in Africa

The British firm specializing in mobile data, OpenSignal, ranks Morocco in 2nd place in Africa in terms of 4G coverage, behind Senegal, in its latest report covering the period January-March 2019.

The Kingdom is also 3rd in terms of download speed behind Tunisia (2nd) and South Africa (1st). The availability rate of 4G in Morocco is estimated at 76.8% against 77.2% in Senegal. In terms of throughput, Morocco shows 11.2 Mbps against 13.4 Mbps for Tunisia and 15 Mbps for South Africa.

The document is also interested in the video experience. In this category, Morocco ranks 4th in Africa, behind South Africa, Tunisia and Egypt. However, it is one of the countries where the video experience is rated as “fair”.
