According to the State Secretariat in charge of sustainable development, the area of household waste management, during the period from 2008 to 2018, was worth two billion and 400 million dirhams (240 billion centimes).
According to the state press, in its proceeds for half the state’s mandate, the financial envelope was designed to rehabilitate 49 randomly selected tiles and completed 25 rails in a number of cities including Rabat, Fes, Oujda, Eljadida, Essaouira, Figuig, Al Hoceima and Guelmim.
According to the data of the State’s writing, the year 2018 was the signing of the plan of action for the implementation of the five-year plan (2018-2022), in partnership with the Ministries of Interior, Economy and Finance, with the aim of improving the results of the national program of household waste management.
The figures indicate a rise in the proportion of waste treatment within the landfill and waste disposal centers to 62.44% of the waste produced, compared to 10% before 2008.
In urban areas, urban waste collection rate increased to 85.2% in 2018, compared to 44% ten years ago.
