After Badr Hari, it’s the turn of Moroccan kickboxer Ismael Lazaar to face Rico Verhoeven, the world heavyweight champion. The Moroccan champion has just announced it on his Facebook page, to the delight of Moroccans who hope for a revenge victory for Lazaar, after the retirement of Badr Hari
The fight will take place on May 20 in the Brabanthallen ring, in the city of S-Hertogenbosh, in the Netherlands.
This is not the first time that Ismael Lazaar has faced Rico Verhoeven. A former fight took place in 2017 and had seen the defeat of the Moroccan champion.
Recall that the Dutchman Rico Verhoeven clinched the heavyweight world champion kickboxing belt after the retirement of Moroccan Badr Hari for injury in a very exciting fight on December 21, 2019 in Arnhem (north-west). The 35-year-old Moroccan champion contracted a left ankle injury in the third round which forced him to give up the fight after successfully knocking down his rival twice in the first two rounds.
