Israelis naturalized in Morocco: New arrests

The National Criminal Police Brigade arrested, in coordination with the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance, five foreigners carrying Israeli passports, for their alleged involvement in obtaining Moroccan identity papers and passports by falsification.

According to a statement from the DGSN, the arrest of the five accused is part of the ongoing research and investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office about the criminal network led by a Moroccan of Jewish faith who was dismantled at the beginning of March after being suspected of involvement in the falsification of Moroccan identity documents for the benefit of Jewish citizens.

Pointing operations have revealed that two of the five arrested are subject to Interpol Red Notices for their arrest and extradition at the international level, the statement said, adding that one of them is suspected of involvement in intentional homicides in the framework of international networks of organized crime, while the second is linked to international drug trafficking networks.

Searches in the homes rented by the suspect have resulted in the seizure of large sums of money in national and foreign currency, a quantity of hashish, Moroccan identity documents obtained by falsification, in addition to cell phones and computer devices.

The defendants were placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial inquiry conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to elucidate the ins and outs of this case, concluded the DGSN.
