Ajax Amsterdam captain Matthijs de Ligt arrived in Turin on Tuesday to complete his transfer to Juventus. The 19-year-old, who led Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League, will take his medical exam before signing his contract for 75 million euros.
The defender even took the time to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans. “It’s here!”, Announces Juve on Twitter, with a video of the Dutch international coming down from a private jet at Turin airport.
De Ligt was tracked by many leading clubs in Europe after his impressive seasons with Ajax Amsterdam. He has played 117 games in all competitions, scoring 13 goals, including three in the Champions League last season. De Ligt notably scored the goal that had eliminated Juventus in the quarter-finals of the competition.
